With a deep purple colour, a nose of ripe black fruits, a palate bursting with black cherries this wine is sensational! The palate is silky and shows a surprising freshness with a underlying acidity.

The Domaine
Since 2006 Mas del Périé is run by the young winemaker Fabien Jouves and is located on the highest slopes of Cahors where Malbec (also known as côt) is the king of grape varietals. There Fabien brings finesse and structure to the wines and is increasing the reputation of the Cahors wines.
Fabien has converted the vineyards to biodynamic farming respecting life, plants, humans and their environment. The whole vinification process occurs naturally, without any additives. The wine is then aged until maturity, either in concrete tanks, barrels or large wooden vats (foudres), depending on the wine's personality.

"Light in alcohol and bursting with fresh crunchy dark fruits backed up with a lively acidity. Absolutely delicious wine and perfect summer drinking with all sorts of red and white meats.
My mood is always lifted when a sample arrives from Terroirs in Donnybrook; they have impeccable tastes in wine (and all sorts of other nice things) and a clientele that is prepared to pay a few cents more for something good. This wine was no exception. It has ‘vin de nature et vivant’ on the back label, suggesting a natural wine. Some of these low/no sulphur wines are good, others are, well, interesting.
