'Brut de Schistes' is a delicious Crémant de Loire composed of Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay. It is the perfect sparkling wine to quench your Champagne cravings at a fraction of the price. It is made with high quality grapes hand-picked at perfect maturity allowing Ogereau to add minimal (brut) dosage - 3.5g/L. It is stored on laths between 24 and 36 months before disgorgement. The result is a creamy yet intensely mineral sparkling wine. It is the ultimate introduction to a Crémant de Loire. This gastronomic crémant with fine and elegant bubbles will have even the Champagne purist singing its praises.

The Domaine
Domaine Ogereau is located in the heart of the Anjou appellation near the town of Angers. It is run by fourth-generation vigneron, Vincent Ogereau and his wife Catherine. After obtaining his diplomas in viticulture and oenology, their son Emmanuel jetted off to New Zealand to work the harvest. He also studied wine business in Dijon, trained in Burgundy and in Oregon. In 2015, with plenty of experience under his belt, Emmanuel returned to work alongside his parents for good. He represents the 5th generation involved in the domaine and his dynamism has no limit. His immense passion for the wines of Anjou is palpable and as a young vigneron he aspires to do everything right. Emmanuel Ogereau is known as the brightest rising star in Anjou and he richly deserves this reputation. Now fifth generation at the Domaine Ogereau, he shares the same ambition as his parents: engaging with nature and respecting the personality of each of their terroirs.
The Ogereau are great believers in Chenin although they also produce superb Anjou rouge from Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. They are also seriously devoted to their terroirs as their 25 hectare estate is like a mosaic of parcels (over 30) and soils (schists, sandstones, volcanics rocks). All the Ogereau's wines reflect their individual terroir which the family has the utmost respect for.

Traditional work is carried out in the vineyard and the harvest is hand-picked. Since 2008, Vincent has been implementing organic farming principles although the wines are not yet certified organic.
“to make great wine you must have excellent grapes. We concentrate on producing the best possible grapes that reflect both their terroir and the particular character of each vintage”. Vincent Ogereau
