This cuvée is made with the Pinot Noirs from our old vines in Vertus. Clement weather, low yields and very stringent sorting are necessary to make this red wine a success. The Pinots are partially destemmed and then macerated for about twelve days. The alcoholic fermentation is carried out with natural yeast. The wines are matured in casks for 18 months.
Relatively dark colour. Subtle nose, typically pinot. Nice full fruit palate, A change from Burgundy. Worth a try.750ml bottle

100% Chardonnay from Premier Crus vineyards planted in 1982 and 1962, given absolutely no 'dosage', making it an ultra brut, and in Pierre Larmandier's words a true expression of the Vertus 'terroir'. Deep rich red colour. Strawberry, currants and a nice amount of fresh yeast entices your nose, and leaves your mouth saying "hurry-up and taste it!" The palate has a rich full feel of red fruits, strawberries, black cherry and currants.

'Longitude' is a sublime biodynamic champagne created by one of the most accomplished winemakers in the region, Pierre Lamandier. Superb and pure it shows a wonderful balance on the palate with a textural richness paired with a vivid minerality due to the terroir. Expressive, elegant and long finish. Quite sophisticated.
