Lush aromas of blackcurrant leaf, kaffir lime leaf, elderflower and boxwood explode from the glass.
The palate is rich, offering fresh green mango, passion fruit & guava. The finish is persistent and coupled with the classic Isabel wet-stone minerality, makes this wine extremely refreshing.

The Domaine
One of Marlborough's largest family-owned wineries, the Isabel Vineyard was established by Michael and Robyn Tiller in 1982. The Tillers initially operated as contract growers supplying the likes of Cloudy Bay. In 1994 they decided to start bottling their own wines, and they now operate entirely on an estate basis, making wines produced only from their own vineyards under their full control. Their progression into winemaking met with sensational results, their very first release, a Pinot Noir, taking out a gold medal. The estate is located on the Omaka terrace, just south of Renwick in Marlborough?s Wairau Valley. Vines are planted at a relatively high density (4400 vines per hectare), and the deep free draining gravels are underlain with a narrow layer of calcium-rich clay, retaining moisture and reducing the need for irrigation.Today, Isabel is very much a family affair, with Michael and Robyn's four children and son-in-law, winemaker Carlos Orgiles Ortega, all actively involved. With the vineyards managed on sustainable and organic principles, the Isabel wines are 100% estate grown and made with fastidious attention to detail, right down to the inhouse bottling. The same philosophy is applied to their second-tier wines, which reside under the Dr Renwick label and are produced off younger vines. The winery's entire range is crafted with extreme care, with all the wines tipping their hats in a terroir salute to their Marlborough origins

“At Isabel we adapt the vineyard to its environment by carefully combining rootstock selection and plant spacings with seasonal handwork, driving the vineyard according to each season”
The Isabel philosophy on working the land is simple:
“respect the soil where the grapes grow and allow the unique characters of each vineyard and variety to be expressed in the final wine.” Proprietor Michael Tiller

Food Pairing
It does well with grilled or sauteed foods and Scallops, shrimps and smoked seafood.
