What a beautiful expressive white wine made by Rui Reguinga one of the most respected Portuguese winemakers and a perfectionist. Terrenus bianco is a blend of several local grape varieties including Arinto, Ferñao Pires, Bical, Roupeiro from 80 to 100 year old bush vines. The vineyard is located in the magical and unique area of Portalegre north-eastern Alentejo (close to the border with Spain) at 600m-800m above sea-level. The grapes are hand harvested. Terrenus is partially matured in new French oak barrels for six months with weekly bâtonnage. Pale straw colour. The nose is quite reminiscent of white flowers and delicate. The palate is extremely fresh and juicy with notes of ripe lemon peel. The granite soil adds minerality and complexity to this wine. Smooth, balanced, quite muscular with appetising freshness. Magnificent.
