  1. Barbeito 1966

Tremendous nose of caramel, toffee and brown sugar that enveloped the table and was obvious two feet away. Clear brown colour. Smooth palate, medium-full body with a marked tartness like a granny smith apple. Very smooth and a long finish. Amazing stuff.

  3. Warre's Vintage Port

An outstanding port, with the caramel overtones of great colheita intermingled with the bright, ripe and deep red and black fruit flavours of vintage port. Vibrant and youthful, both on the nose and in the mouth, with a nice spirity kick on the end palate. A very rare vintage to find at all, let alone in Mathusalem.

  4. Taylors Vintage Port 1945

The first post-War vintage was a classic year marked by drought. The wine was bottled in Portugal because of English restrictions.‘Deep tawny with narrow amber rim. Very powerful, dense, almost overwhelming, showing extraordinary vigour and plenty of background. Still incredibly youthful. Rich, treacly, plum pudding overlaid by delicate complex floral scents. Huge diversity of aromas that manage to combine harmoniously. Beautifully balanced and elegant.’
