  1. Essensia

Made from 100% Orange Muscat, Essentia has an aroma reminiscent of orange blossom and apricot. Its relatively high acidity makes it taste balanced, even with its considerable sweetness, more like a taste of fresh fruit. Essentia is used as a dessert accompaniment or a dessert in itself. Best served chilled. Pair with white fruits such as peach, pear or apricot.

  5. Havens Merlot

Outstanding! The best we've tasted from Havens. It received 90 points from wine writer Robert Parker… 'The 1997 Merlot exhibits a dense ruby/purple colour in addition to a superb nose of chocolate, cocoa, cherries, and smoky, earthy notes. The wine is rich and medium to full-bodied, with low acidity, a sweet, nicely layered palate, and a lush finish. It should drink well for 7-8 years. (Aug-99)' Wine Spectator… 'Dense, with a supple core of black cherry, tar and earth flavours framed by firm tannins. Best from 2000 through 2015.

  8. Pine Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon

Deep garnet in colour, this brilliantly youthful wine evokes aromas of blackberry, cassis and stewed red cherries, draped in milk chocolate, toast and vanilla bean layers. On the palate, it enters subtly with flavours of roasted espresso bean and milk chocolate, then explodes with bright fruit notes of black plum, red raspberry and cherry, finishing smoothly with well-structured tannins and a hint of spice.

  10. Chateau Montelena Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine shows deep dense plum colour with great density. The nose opens with anise and spice before moving into rich layers of blackberry and cherry compote. All that great concentrated fruit is beautifully complemented with barrel tones of vanilla and clove. It is quite youthful and lively on the palate with a good firm acid core - great for food pairing - and abundant velvety tannin. Complex layers of black fruits through the mid palate, with good barrel spice underlayment throughout, are nicely complemented by bright red fruit on the finish. This wine is quite approachable so young, but it will definitely improve with additional time in the bottle, if you've got the patience. If you do plan to drink it now, I'd recommend decanting it in order to help it open up even more.
