  1. Chateau Montelena Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine shows deep dense plum colour with great density. The nose opens with anise and spice before moving into rich layers of blackberry and cherry compote. All that great concentrated fruit is beautifully complemented with barrel tones of vanilla and clove. It is quite youthful and lively on the palate with a good firm acid core - great for food pairing - and abundant velvety tannin. Complex layers of black fruits through the mid palate, with good barrel spice underlayment throughout, are nicely complemented by bright red fruit on the finish. This wine is quite approachable so young, but it will definitely improve with additional time in the bottle, if you've got the patience. If you do plan to drink it now, I'd recommend decanting it in order to help it open up even more.

  2. Sequoia Grove Cabernet Sauvignon

Dark black in colour, the nose gives an immediate aroma of dark, smoky chocolate, leading into ripe blackberries and sweet cherries with notes of clove, vanilla and cocoa powder. The palate is smooth and rich with ripe, developed tannins giving the wine a full arc in the mouth and giving flavours of blackberry and a hint of smoky, sweet oak.

  3. Napanook 2011

The 2011 Napanook is deep, rich and intense for the year. Plums, mocha, spices, licorice all flesh out in an inviting wine to drink now and over the next few years. The 2011 has no hard edges or greenness, but the medium-bodied structure suggests it is best enjoyed sooner rather than later. The blend is 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot and 8% Cabernet Franc.

This 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon is beautiful. Scents of pain grille, mocha, black currants, spices and plums emerge from this deep, resonant wine. The 2007 possesses stunning textural depth and richness, not to mention phenomenal overall balance.

  6. Overture

Full bodied but approachable in its youth, Overture shows generous dark fruit aromas and flavors with a soft, supple mid-palate. As a fine wine, Overture will develop beautifully over time.
Overture is a blend of all five Bordeaux varieties, and since our vineyard estates are planted primarily to Cabernet Sauvignon, this variety dominates the blend.

  8. Clos Du Val Cabernet Sauvignon

This incredibly rich and intense Cabernet Sauvignon reveals a deep red colour with a purple-hued undertone. Layers of fruit, wood and spice create a complex nose that releases aromas of fleshy cherries, bay leaf, coffee and hazelnut. It is a fullbodied wine with an explosive entry and a kiss of chocolate. Smooth and seamlessly integrated, the wine leaves a lingering finish and a lasting impression.

  9. Opus One

Purity and brilliance on the nose with so much currant and flower character. Roses, currant bush and fresh leaves, too. Brightness is the word that comes to mind. Full-bodied and broad-shouldered. Juicy and so gorgeous now. Balance is so wonderful here. All about harmonious fruit and tannin balance. I like it slightly better than the excellent 2014. 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot and 2% Malbec. Drink or hold. James Suckling
