  1. Saint Véran Veillies Vignes "Les Pommards"

Saint Véran is an appellation in the Mâconnais region next to that of Pouilly-Fuissé. The grape of choice is of course Chardonnay and Robert Denogent's wines are among the best we have ever tasted from the Mâconnais. This Saint Véran is powerful, with a a complex nose reminiscent of Bourgognes Blanc from further north. Denogent's wines are fermented using indigenous yeasts and are aged in oak for up to 18 month which is unusual in this part of the appellation. Very rich and complex, a bit flinty and with bright acidity.

    1.5L magnum

  2. Les Jardins de Babylone

A deep colour, intense ripe and exotic fruit with a complex spiciness. Impressive indeed, ripe, rounded notes of pineapple, star anise, mirabelle, guava and acacia honey with a gentle creaminess. Seductive and juicy on the finish. 100% Petit Manseng, 10.5% alcohol and approximately 125g/l residual sugar.

    750ml bottle

  3. Château de Fieuzal Blanc - © Seán Gilley 2013

"A big, fruity wine that manages to balance its ripe tropical-fruit flavours with notes of spice and grapefruit. It has weight and is still settling down. Concentrated and intense.

    750ml bottle
