  1. Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage 'La Chapelle' 1978

Dark ruby, quite warm colour. Fabulous nose. Peppery and rich, with black fruits, coffee and juicy cherry note, some mushroomy notes and hints of damp undergrowth. Freshly ground coffee and then aromas of mushroom and truffle. Beautifully pure core of cassis and cherry fruit on the palate wrapped inside some firm tannins and quite high acidity.Really complex and structured. Needs more time, but very, very fine indeed.

  2. Marchesi Antinori - Solaia

Black pepper, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, plums and bottled fruit aromas follow each other continually in Solaia 2003. The wine is strikingly elegant with nicely blended tannins supporting the sensation of sweetness and weight. The tasting does not reveal harshness, and the balance shows distinctive sweetness from the riper grapes. Hints of liquorice and coffee return in the impressively long finish.

  3. Domaine du Clos des Fées - La Petite Sibérie

This wine have had us spellbound. 'La Petite Siberie' is the top cuvee. Produced in miniscule quantities from a sinlge vineyard of fantastically old Grenache vines, it is a unique and amazing wine. A rich nose of raspberries, olives and herbs leads to a palate boasting bitter chocolate, blackberry and vanilla notes; the finish is truly Herculean.

  4. Château Ducru Beaucaillou

"Loads of crushed berries on the nose, with hints of flowers and minerals. Very aromatic. Full-bodied, with fine tannins and a long, cappuccino and berry aftertaste. Really refined." 92 points Wine Spectator

  5. Château d’Ampuis Côte-Rôtie

"Medium ruby. Spicy aromas of blackcurrant, tobacco, gunmetal, tar and game. Rich, silky and sweet, but a bit subdued following the bottling and not currently showing its complexity. Finishes quite long, with very round, fine tannins. This was made from riper fruit than the '95, noted Philippe Guigal, even if the '95 was a more massive wine." 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

  6. Château d’Ampuis Côte-Rôtie

"The 1995 Côte-Rôtie Château Ampuis is a sensational offering. The bottled wine is even better than its individual component parts. It boasts a dense, saturated deep ruby colour, as well as a flamboyant, intense bouquet of crushed pepper, Provencal herbs, black raspberry jam, and smoky sweet oak. The wine is medium to full-bodied, with good underlying acidity, but much more voluptuous and unctuous than it appeared to be from cask. Long, concentrated, and explosively rich, this wine may merit an even higher score after it has had some time to mesh together in bottle. It is a terrific Côte-Rôtie to drink over the next 10-15+ years." Score: 92 points Robert Parker, Wine Advocate

  7. Pignan Chateauneuf du Pape

Pignan represents 20% of Rayas’ red wine production, and is made from separate vineyards, primarily. Beautifully smooth, elegant liqueur-like red fruits on the nose. Sweetly aromatic. The palate has a lovely green sappy edge. It’s really elegant and lively with nice acidity. Fresh with some tannins.

  8. Domaine J. Confuron Cotetidot - Grands-Echezeaux Grand Cru

Ripe, generous, cherry and raspberry nose. Lush, juicy, and concentrated, yet quite earthy and grippy; robust, compact and powerful, clearly built to last. Long chewy finish.

  9. Château d’Ampuis Côte-Rôtie

Super ripe aromas of pepper, chocolate and menthol. Wonderfully deep flavours of cherries and spice. A very fresh, elegant wine with compelling sweetness but also excellent backbone. Really coats the palate on the very long aftertaste, finishing with strong spiciness and great lift.

  10. Krug Rosé

Krug Rosé is the only prestige cuvee rosé to be blended from a rich palette of wines from three different grape varieties, and from such a wide range of vintages. These are blended with a wonderfully expressive skin-fermented Pinot Noir wine to deliver its unparalleled and characteristic colour and spice. A resting time of at least five years in Krug’s cellars gives Krug Rosé its subtle bubbles and long-lasting elegance. Krug Rosé is everywhere we don’t expect it to be, in terms of texture, colour and taste. A completely reinvented Rosé Universe. Krug Rosé is a remarkable Champagne which encapsulates the same creative spirit of Krug Grande Cuvée, again surpassing the very notion of vintage.
