  1. Domaine Etienne Sauzet Puligny-Montrachet

Focused, displaying well-defined flavours of lime, peach, hazelnut and pastry. Juicy and open, showing a hint of salinity on the finish. Wine Spectator 91 points

  2. Gevrey Chambertin "Les Seuvrees"

The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Seuvrées sees 25% new oak and includes the same percentage of whole bunch fruit. It felt a little smudged on the nose, perhaps just a little high-toned for me. The palate is more controlled, nicely balanced with crisp blackberry and raspberry fruit. The whole bunch fruit works well here, lending freshness and tension towards the edgy finish. It actually improves the more that you remain in its company and will probably land towards the top of my banded score once in bottle.

  3. Domaine J. Confuron Cotetidot - Grands-Echezeaux Grand Cru

Ripe, generous, cherry and raspberry nose. Lush, juicy, and concentrated, yet quite earthy and grippy; robust, compact and powerful, clearly built to last. Long chewy finish.

  5. Domaine Georges Roumier, Chambolle Musigny

The Chambolle Muigny 2012 village from Roumier is still youthful – but also unexpectedly open and ready to please. The bouquet fresh and playful red berry fruit with some darker notes of blue berries and cassis. On the palate juicy red berry fruit – quite vibrant, rich and airy – with a slight candied note. It’s quite accessible and red fruited for the age – has lovely balance and length for this level. Really adore the nerve and juicyness in this wine …. a fine, complex and beautiful 2012 from Roumier. Classic Chambolle!
