A deep, dark and profound wine, reflecting the sun and the sun-baked schist Corbières soils. Full-bodied and broad-shouldered, with glorious notes of dark plum, sweet spices and star anise. Rich, supple and smooth.
Antoine Robert has recently replaced Bernard Pueyo, who had been the winemaker at Castelmaure for the past 35 years, and who demonstrated the potential of Corbières to make fine wines. Robert will no doubt carry on to continue to produce ‘good wine for everyone and with everyone’.
The Corbières area is situated south east of Carcassonne and its landscape is a dramatic geological chaos of mountains and valleys, an area which used to be known for rustic red wines. These days, it’s one of the most promising regions of the Languedoc.
