The Rondo grape is a relatively new variety and thrives in Northern wine regions like England and Denmark, and does very well in North County Dublin. Only 100 bottles were produced. It matured without any barrel aging, to allow the full character of the grape to express itself.
The nose is rich and packed with dark fruit characters. Ripe black cherries, vanilla, blackberries, and a touch of black pepper. Overall it is soft and rounded. Excellent.
David Llewellyn has always had a passion for trees, and then he developed a passion for vines and their fruits. Today he produces mostly a Blanc de Noirs, which is arguably very fine and avidly snapped up.
