  1. Domaine Vincent Pinard Sancerre "Les Florès"

From a limestone based vineyard in the Bué area of Sancerre, this is very expressive and aromatic and head and shoulders above other Sauvignons at this price. A white flower and citrus oil nose is followed by a fantastically clear palate of lime pith, rock salt, nectarine and apple blossom. Juicy, silky and very moreish.

  2. Domaine Saint-Georges d’Ibry-Cuvée des Amis Blanc

As the name suggests ‘Cuvée des Amis’ is a cheerful wine perfect for everyday enjoyment. From the Languedoc near Béziers this is a very fruity and crisp blend of Viognier and Sauvignon. With its fresh and attractive notes of ripe apricot and white flowers combined with lemony touches this zesty and fruity wine displays a bright, crisp and elegant finish.

  3. Sauvignon Blanc 'Arpent Vaudons'

L'Arpent des Vaudons offers aromatic clean flavours with apple and pink grapefruit tones. Balanced and pure with fruit that has finesse and energy complemented by a great minerality on the palate with notes of fresh cut grass. Delivers sheer pleasure. Made to go with shellfish, fish, chicken or any spicy dishes, like curry. And don't forget that it is also gorgeous on its own and only 12%vol.
❝L'Arpent des Vaudons" is a fine example of Loire Sauvignon, one that bears the clear marks of ambitious winemaking.❞ Sean Gilley

  4. Johanneshof Reinisch Dialog

Made of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Sauvignon Blanc. The wines are fermented separately, Sauvignon Blanc in stainless steel tanks and Chardonnay in large oak barrels, after which the final blend is made. Very captivating scent of exotic fruits including lychee, biscuits and butter tones. The palate is delicately creamy with an elegant acidity. A vibrant ‘cutting-edge’ wine that would pair well with fish as well as white meats, pasta dishes and vegetables.

  6. Domaine Florian Roblin - Sauvignon Blanc "Champ Gibault"

Meticulously made classic Loire Sauvignon by Florian Roblin, a young dedicated winemaker. This wine can be described as the 'insider's alternative' to Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé. Perhaps more reliably, this splendid Loire white offers classic Sauvignon character. Grapefruit and discreet freshly cut grass aromas abound with a lovely smoky background often referred to as 'gun flint'. Also a slight touch of truffle on the nose. There's good ripeness here so the wine is sure to be an all round pleaser. This pristine, fresh and elegant white really stands up well alongside more expensive Sancerres and makes a terrific partner to shellfish and sea food as well as chicken. A smart buy.

  7. Vieillefont Blanc

Vieillefont 2009 is quite a rich wine made from 60% Sémillon, 25% Sauvignon and 15% Muscadelle. The certified organic vines are 50 year old and more. A white that is deep, quite intriguing with a different style. Aromas of citrus and white peaches. Extremely good structure and broad on the palate and a long lingering finish. Would be ideal with a creamy chicken casserole, a roast belly of pork or a smoked mackerel quiche.

  8. Ata Rangi Sauvignon Blanc

The cool 2014 season has resulted in a very expressive Sauvignon Blanc. It shows more lemon, lime and passion fruit aromas, with a flinty character and a twist of mint. There is a creaminess to the texture, derived from the portion of barrel fermentation.

  9. Donnafugata "Vigna di Gabri"

A wine with great personality and charm. Bright straw yellow, the nose offers an ample bouquet of fresh fruity notes with scents of lily of the valley and elder and pleasant herbaceous nuances. Persistent on the palate, characterised by fragrant minerality.

  10. Shaw + Smith Sauvignon Blanc

    New Vintage 2017
"This is a dignified Sauvignon Blanc that continuously reveals itself as you move from the bouquet through to the aftertaste of the palate. Initially it has classic restraint, but by the time you pick up the sweet fruit (not sugar) you realise it’s the product of a vintage designed for Sauvignon blanc." 96 points - James Halliday, Wine Companion - November 2017
