  1. Vignoble Le Bihan - La Pie Colette Blanc

Duras is less than an hour South of Bergerac. A beautiful nose of acacia flowers with tempting grapefruit notes. This cheerful white brings immediate pleasure to the palate with delicate notes of exotic fruits and a delicious finish.

  2. Vieillefont Blanc

Vieillefont 2009 is quite a rich wine made from 60% Sémillon, 25% Sauvignon and 15% Muscadelle. The certified organic vines are 50 year old and more. A white that is deep, quite intriguing with a different style. Aromas of citrus and white peaches. Extremely good structure and broad on the palate and a long lingering finish. Would be ideal with a creamy chicken casserole, a roast belly of pork or a smoked mackerel quiche.

  3. Henschke - Tilly's Vineyard

Straw with green hues. Developing aromas of lime marmalade and brioche with supporting melon, nougat and cashew characters. Sweet fruit, lush and textured with citrus, vanilla and clove; nice minerality, finishing crisp and long.

  4. Domaine Elian da Ros - Coucou Blanc

An atypical wine for the Marmandais region. As Elian explains "This wine is an heritage from my time spent working in Alsace". Aromas are very expressive with complex quince and floral notes. Wonderful firm structure and truly elegant balance.

  5. L'Abeille de Fieuzal Blanc - © Seán Gilley 2013

This classic Bordeaux Blanc is marked by youthful notes of citrus that evolve into toasted hazelnuts over time. A well-structured base of Sauvignon Blanc provides precision at release, while Sémillon adds a supple beeswax texture, elevated by spring floral tones. A fine special occasion wine, perfect for seafood risotto, poultry and oranges with herbs or lightly aging cheeses. This rich Bordeaux Blanc was produced in the classic method, in barrique with regular bâtonnage or stirring up of spent lees.

  6. Château de Fieuzal Blanc - © Seán Gilley 2013

"A big, fruity wine that manages to balance its ripe tropical-fruit flavours with notes of spice and grapefruit. It has weight and is still settling down. Concentrated and intense.

  7. Doisy-Daëne 1975

Like many distinguished, elderly Sauternes it has shed some of its richness but still packs a punch in both content and intensity. There is more today of the caramel and dried fruit side than those marmalade notes more typical of younger Sauternes/ Barsacs. It tastes exquisite on its own, and would make a very fine match with well chosen, not too sweet puddings, or perhaps best simply with some dried fruit.

    €189.50

  8. Château Coutet

Light golden colour. Delicate nose. Soft and gentle, ripe and fruity on the palate. This is balanced, elegant and long. Still enjoyable. Fragrant and honeyed at the end. Glorious......

  9. Château Guiraud - 1er Cru Classé Sauternes

A peaceful harvest in ideal conditions trie after trie. A lot of purity, a botrytis less active than in 1986.
Intense nose, fresh, full bodied. Aromas reminding over ripe grapes, vanilla, pineapple, coconut, mango, guava, spices, orange, honey, acacia. In mouth, it is very concentrated, well balanced, round, fleshy, fat.
The finish is long, long, long…ready to drink now but also with a good ageing potential.
