  1. Domaine Saint-Georges d’Ibry-Cuvée des Amis Rouge

As the name suggests ‘Cuvée des Amis’ is a cheerful wine perfect for everyday enjoyment. From the Languedoc near Béziers this is a very fruity blend of Merlot and Syrah. The nose expresses notes of blackcurrant and blackberry. With flavours of crunchy red fruits and subtle spices on the palate this Cuvée des Amis is delicious.

  6. Château Rosalcy

A very young but modern styled Bordeaux, that is actually drinking quite well. Cedar and ripe plum and berry fruit. Quite perfumed with a touch of oak. It's got some furry taninns but also nice rich plummy fruit and creamy oak. Good weight and length. It's really quite enjoyable. With food it's drinking really well. Modern but still classically from Bordeaux which is good.

  9. Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot

“Deep ruby red in colour. On the nose there are harmonious aromas of blackcurrants, green herbs, green peppers, mint, black pepper and vanilla. The palate is dry with medium acidity and firm yet well-balanced tannins. Ripe, dark fruit flavours of blackcurrants, plums, damsons and redcurrants. Towards the finish there are more spicy elements such as vanilla and black pepper.”

  10. Havens Merlot

Outstanding! The best we've tasted from Havens. It received 90 points from wine writer Robert Parker… 'The 1997 Merlot exhibits a dense ruby/purple colour in addition to a superb nose of chocolate, cocoa, cherries, and smoky, earthy notes. The wine is rich and medium to full-bodied, with low acidity, a sweet, nicely layered palate, and a lush finish. It should drink well for 7-8 years. (Aug-99)' Wine Spectator… 'Dense, with a supple core of black cherry, tar and earth flavours framed by firm tannins. Best from 2000 through 2015.
