"A classic Pauillac. Well defined, youth- and powerful palate. Notes of thick cream, herbs, iron and lots of dark fruits, lingering finish with well integrated tannins.

A strong case can be made that this is the finest Duhart produced since the 1982. The colour is a saturated dark ruby/purple. The bouquet offers aromas of blackberry fruit intermixed with licorice, minerals, and dried herbs. Rich and intense, with considerable finesse, medium to full body, and outstanding concentration and purity. It reflects the increased attention Lafite's administrator, Charles Chevalier, has been giving this nearby estate.

Lynch-Bages 2008 displays nice aromas of cranberry, dried floral notes, and tobacco. The palate has nice energy and acidity with excellent tannin structure. A very good combination of intensity, depth, and structure.

Lafite’s second wine has become stronger over recent vintages as the selection for the grand vin has become Draconian under administrator Charles Chevalier. The dense ruby/purple-tinged 2004 Carruades de Lafite (48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot) exhibits sweet, crunchy, savory, black cherry, and raspberry fruit along with hints of road tar, spring flowers, and a touch of minerality. Give it 1-2 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 12-13 years.

The 1996 Le Petit Mouton was made in limited quantities (30,000 bottles). It is a ripe, seductive, low acid, plump effort. The wine is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc. This fleshy second wine offers notes of mocha, spice box, cassis, and oak. It will drink well for 10-15 years.

"A classic example of a second wine, the 2005 Carruades de Lafite reveals a dark ruby hue with some pink showing at the rim. The moderately intense nose of graphite, forest floor, and sweet black currant fruit is followed by a medium-bodied, elegant wine with light to moderate tannin. Drink it over the next 10-15 years." Cedar, tar & tobacco notes on the nose with black raspberries and cherry liqueur on the palate. Full bodied, dense, masculine, this is a big, beefy, classic style of Lynch Bages.

Impressive 1993. The nose is immediately rich and complete, combining notes of old leather, blackcurrant with notes of coffee, mocha, toast and smoke.
The wine is fresh on the palate and shows good structure with fine tannins, pleasantly underpinned by elegant oak and delicious cherry liqueur and caramel notes. The finish lingers on a pleasant impression of oak and vanilla, full of refinement and charm. Just class.750ml bottle

Latour wine is an example of consistency no matter the vintage. Firm, tannic and concentrated in its youth, it needs a long cellaring to reveal its depth, its power and extraordinary wealth. Perfect maturity, the wine is characterized by an incredible bouquet of blackcurrant, hazelnut and leather. A monumental wine.

"Very smoky, with berry, coffee and tobacco aromas. Full-bodied, with polished velvety tannins, plenty of fruit and a cedary aftertaste. Tight and compacted. This is better than the 2000 Mouton. Solid and very, very fine. Persists for a long time on the palate. Best after 2009."
