This is the estate blend Molise DOP (Protected Denomination of Origin). 80% Leccino and Gentile di Larino, 20% Rosciola olives are combined to make this typical selection. Intense, clear golden yellow with slight green hues. Its aroma is ample and round, with hints of artichoke, lettuce and chicory, enriched by fragrant notes of basil and parsley. Its taste is fine and complex, with a flavour of unripe tomato, green apple and a final note of almond and black pepper. Bitterness and pungency are distinct and well balanced.
Colonna’s history dates back to the 12th century. In 1996, Marina Colonna, the grand daughter of Piero Colonna who was the Governor of Rome and the daughter of don Francesco Colonna, a keen agronomist, inherited the 180-hectare farm, including 55 hectares of olive groves, cereals and vegetable crops. The estate of Colonna is located in Molise, that little-known region opposite Rome on the Adriatic coast. Marina farms meticulously in order to achieve high quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
