Albert Ménès Câpres Non-Pareilles

Capers grow on a wild and thorny bush plant that can be found in arid, and sunny Mediterranean regions. Capers are neither fruits nor seeds; they are small flower buds, harvested before they open. These small condiments release vinegar aromas as well as a slightly sharp flavour. Albert Ménès capers benefit from the non-pareille name reserved to the smallest capers, with a diameter of 5-7 mm. Non-pareille capers are hand-picked very young, between June and August. They have a very pronounced aroma of fine vinegar, and extremely delicate flavours along with a firm texture. Wonderful with smoked salmon, delicious sprinkle on pizza, they are also an essential ingredient in the preparation of steak tartare.
