From a classic year and a great house, this Vintage Port has evolved into filigree complexity and delicacy. After more than a half-century, it has retained some of the spicy, floral character of the Douro grape varieties, as well as a sense of the schist soil on which they were cultivated, on steep terraces perched precariously above the river. As befits its great maturity, the fruit has evolved into rich date and fig character, accompanied by refined walnut and fragrant wood, leading into an harmonious and fresh finish. This is fully ready to drink, although if cellared carefully, it will continue to persist for years to come.
