The cuvée Les Laquets is matured in oak barrels for 18 to 22 months. It has aromas of red fruits (blackcurrant) and black fruits (blackberry), violets, with spicy and woody notes. On the palate, there is a lovely balance between tannic and aromatic expression. A wine with a good potential for ageing.
In just a couple of decades, Catherine Maisonneuve and Matthieu Cosse have transformed the image of the once-black wine of Cahors. They are shaping splendid wines with notable finesse, elegance, structure, and age worthy.
The vineyards of the appellation Cahors are predominantly planted west of the town of Cahors, on terraces above the River Lot. The main cépage is Côt, also called Malbec, and Merlot and Tannat are complementary varieties.
