If ever a wine went with chocolate then this is it. Made from 100 per cent Grenache Noir this vins doux naturel is packed with flavour and offers aromatic dark cherries and cassis with leather and tobacco edges, sweet and firm on the palate, with an appealing balance of fruit, tannin, alcohol and residual sugar.
Since the early 1980s, Robert and Cathy Pouderoux have been producing elegant wine from the Valley de l’Agly, one of the hottest and driest regions in France. Their wines are full-bodied, yet they retain a welcoming freshness. Their Vins Doux Naturels from Maury, with their Port-like style, are concentrated and complex.
Maury is located North West of Perpignan and tucked away in the dramatic landscape of the Agly Valley, one of the southernmost pockets of the Roussillon, and one of the hottest and driest regions in France.
