This 100% Côt (also known as Malbec) from 120-year-old vines pampered by Coralie and Damien, is incredibly well-knit. The wine matured for 9 moths - 50% in ovoid vats and 50% in oak barrels. The layers on the palate unfurl to reveal succulent juicy black fruits. It is incredibly silky on the palate with softly seductive tannins. An iron fist in a velvet glove. Stunning.
Coralie and Damien Delecheneau are a driven couple, intelligent perfectionists with restless ambition to produce wines respecting nature and their terroirs.
Touraine is a catch-all area covering over 5,000 hectares of vineyard land and located in the middle stretch of the immense Loire river where the most beguiling white wines are produced along with underrated, yet wonderful, red wines.
