Another great wine from Morgat. On the nose there is wet rocks, grapefruit, pear, stone fruits and a floral component. Rich yet precise! Oliy texture in the opening, with a hint of butter, then over to a more fruity and leaner finish with lots of acid and a slight bitternes. Since I do not know better I would say it has some vintage character. In any case it will keep well, and easily handles lots different foods
Savennières is a tiny sleeping beauty of an appellation created in 1952, southwest of the city of Angers in the Anjou area of the Loire Valley. The only grape variety grown there is Chenin. 36 producers farm 140 hectares of vines planted on schist, sand and volcanic soil.
