From vineyards located in Almerim - an hour north of Lisbon - this smooth red is deep in colour. Aged in French oak for 8 months, it reveals good aromatic complexity with ripe red fruit character and notes of black figs and prunes. Soft, round and well balanced on the palate. Very approachable with good persistence. Versatile match for meaty suppers. A delight solo. Top class at the price.
Made by winemaker Rui Reguinga. Rui is a perfectionist and one of the most respected Portuguese winemakers. Quinta Vale Veados “Deer’s Valley” is located in the heart of the Tejo area - north east of Lisbon - on ancient royal hunting grounds.
Rui Reguinga has established himself as one of Portugal’s greatest winemakers. He is behind the revitalisation of Northern Alentejo’s ancient wine region and the wines he produces from various Portuguese vineyards are simply uncompromisingly brilliant.
