The vintage of 2021 was a challenging growing season as described by Yves Confuron, the régisseur at Domaine de Courcel in Pommard. However, they managed to avoid one major issue which was frost, thanks to their late pruning. This resulted in a late harvest and clean fruits, eventually yielding better volume than in 2020. What's remarkable is that the potential alcohols reached an excellent 13.5%, which eliminated the need for chaptalization.
Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot located in Vosne-Romanée, was created by Jack Confuron in 1964. Today it is managed by his sons, Jean-Pierre and Yves who are both ecologists.
